Welcome to The West Cornwall Concert Band

West Cornwall Concert Band is a Registered Charity
No. 1076756.

West Cornwall Concert Band has between 35 and 40 regular players with a wide range of woodwind, brass and percussion instruments.
The band has a policy of encouraging players of all ages and experience. Some players have returned to the band to further develop their skills and are possibly studying for grades with a qualified tutor. Others are just starting out to learn an instrument.
All are playing for the fun and enjoyment of making music in a welcoming, safe and friendly environment.

The Band came to life in 1998 and since then has performed regularly not only in the West Cornwall area but also as far afield as France.
As a charity the aim is to promote and encourage music out in the wider community. This is partly achieved by regularly combining with other Cornish Choirs, bands and musicians to perform joint events.
A number of concerts are given each year including big outdoor summer performances, as well as in many local Chapels and smaller more intimate village halls. Some of these are specifically for charity fundraising.

The Band performs a wide ranging repertoire including classical, jazz, swing, rock,
big band, show, film and TV music. These are all arranged and ideally suited to the instrumental mix of a concert band. So there’s something for everyone.
The band meets to rehearse every Monday evening, except for Bank Holidays, from 7.00 to 9.00 at Camborne Wesley Methodist Church, Chapel Street, Camborne, TR14 8EG.
Anyone is welcome to come along to have a listen and meet the band, with a view to possible becoming a player.

By becoming a member of the band you will discover the fun and rewards of making music alongside a group of dedicated musicians, as well as extending your own playing ability. A warm and friendly welcome awaits all who would like to join us.
It’s appreciated that for many reasons sometimes players need to take a break. Any previous band members who wish to will always be more than welcome to come back and join us again.
